Robin Conner Combs was born in Salem, Virginia. She grew up in Check, Virginia and at the age of 11 received Christ as her Lord and Savior during a Sunday morning service at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren in Bent Mountain, Virginia. Robin was active in her youth ministry at church and was in her high school’s Christian Girl’s Club were she served as secretary. She was, also, secretary of Campus Crusade for Christ while attending Radford University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. While at RU, she met her future husband Gary, who is the founding pastor of Wilson Community Church.
Robin and Gary have three wonderful children, Stephen, Jonathan and Erin. Stephen is married to Caroline; they have a daughter named Cadence. Jonathan is married to Nicole and they have a son, Nathaniel and a daughter, Addison. Erin is married to Abbott Mitchell, and they have two sons, Samuel and Ace.
Robin’s hobbies are needlework, reading and cooking, but her favorite pastime is being with her grandchildren. She loves traveling; she and her husband, Gary, have recently been to Turkey, Greece and Israel. Their summer travels are now taking them to Uganda, London and Guatemala, where they minister together with WCC’s mission teams.
